Play in memory.
Give in love.
Make a difference.
What began as a heartfelt memorial grew into a community tradition.
Wayne’s Pond Memorial Golf Tournament is an annual gathering of friends, family, and supporters united by one mission: honor the legacy of Wayne Page and give back to the community. Every year, golfers tee off with purpose, supporting youth programs, strengthening local opportunities, and continuing a tradition rooted in love, remembrance, and impact.
About the Tournament
The Wayne’s Pond Memorial Golf Tournament was created to honor the life and legacy of Wayne Page, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend who passed away in 2016 after a courageous battle with colon cancer.
Hosted by Wayne’s family and supported by an incredible network of friends and community partners, the tournament is built on a simple belief: making a difference in someone’s life is both rewarding and positive. Through golf, fellowship, and giving, this event turns remembrance into action, and helps strengthen the community Wayne loved.

Why We Play
In 2016, the Page family endured an unimaginable loss when Wayne passed away from colon cancer. In the months that followed, they asked a powerful question: How can we honor Wayne in a way that brings people together and gives back in a meaningful way?
The answer became the first Wayne’s Pond Memorial Golf Tournament, held in 2017.
The goal was twofold:
- Celebrate Wayne’s life and spirit, and
- Support the next generation by giving back to local youth programs.
Wayne loved golf, and he also loved kids. He didn’t have children of his own, but he was known as the “favorite uncle,” always making his nieces and nephews laugh and teaching them the values of sportsmanship, kindness, and community. It’s why this tournament continues to focus on programs that serve young people across Addison and beyond.
And the tournament’s name? It comes from a story that perfectly captures Wayne’s spirit. Wayne worked at Eaglewood Resort & Spa, and on the first hole, there’s water, a spot where Wayne’s golf ball often ended up. The family jokes that he hit it there every time, and the tradition lives on today: each golfer is invited to stop and hit a ball into the water, a lighthearted tribute that keeps Wayne’s memory part of every round.
Year after year, this event has grown, not only in size, but in impact. The Page family has set a goal to outdo last year’s fundraising total, and they continue to meet that challenge through community support, sponsorships, raffles, and dedication. What started as a memorial has become a legacy, and proof that one life can inspire thousands of others to give, play, and uplift those around them.
